[FAQ] Hack Sheild Trouble shooting FAQ

Attention to all AC Veterans !!
This is the AC Commander!

Please refer to the FAQ below if you have encountered an issue regarding the Hack Shield.

The person allowed to peruse and keep from AhnLab, Inc. The person allowed to peruse and keep this document shall be liable for losing, taking out and getting this document stolen.


System Specifications

 Multi-CPU and HyperThread must be supported.
 Unexpected poor performance may occur in Windows NT family used as web server and DB server.
 Only Intel x86 family (including x86 compatible AMD family) is supported. Alpha Chip Machine that runs Windows NT, and NET PC 8xxx Machine that runs Windows are not supported.
 HackShield 2.0 may conflict with other third party security software. When such problem occurs, check whether another security program is running at the same time.

HackShield Update Error


[ErrorCode: 0x10a01] DETECT abnormal HackShield status
1. An error message (Error Code: 0x00010a01) occurs, and the game does not run.
Cause
 The HackShield files may not be updated and downloaded properly.
 The HackShield files may be defected by some viruses
Solution
1. Use an antivirus program to scan/remove malicious code and then restart the game.
2. Install the game client to install the HackShield files again.

If the error persists after following above procedure, perform step below:

[ErrorCode: 0x30000090] HSERROR_HSUPDATE_TIMEOUT
Symptoms
1. An error message (Error Code: 0x30000090) occurs, and the game does not run.
Cause
 An error occurred while updating HackShield modules
 It might be a problem of firewall configuration which prevents hackshield modules from being downloaded and updated  
Solution
1. It could be a temporary error, restart the game.
2. There could be a program that might prevent the HackShield module from being updated.
 3. Check your personal firewall whether one of the HackShield modules are being blocked or not

If the error persists after following above procedure, perform step below:

[ErrorCode: 0x30000030] HSERROR_NETWORK_CONNECT_FAIL
Symptoms
1. An error message (Error Code: 0x30000030) occurs, and the game does not run.
Cause
 An error occurred while updating the HackShield modules
 It might be a problem of bad network connection and bandwidth
Solution
1. It could be a temporary error, restart the game.

If the error persists after following above procedure, perform step below:

HackShield Installation Error

[ErrorCode: 0x00000101] Failed to install HackShield file
Symptoms
1. An error message (Error Code: 0x00000101) occurs, and the game does not run.
Cause
 The HackShield files may not be installed properly.
 The HackShield files may be modified.
 The HackShield files may be defected by some viruses

Solution
1. Use an antivirus program to scan/remove malicious code and then restart the game.
2. Restart the game to get the patch for the HackShield files.
3. Install the game client to install the HackShield files again.
4. If HackShield update is applied, restart the game from the beginning to run HackShield update again.
If the error persists after following above procedure, perform step below:

HackShield Driver Error   

 [ErrorCode: 0x00000102] Failed to initialize HackShield driver
Symptoms
1. An error message (Error Code: 0x00000102) occurs, and the game does not run.
Cause
 An error occurred when the HackShield driver is initialized.
 There could be a program that might prevent the HackShield driver from being initialized.
Solution
1. It could be a temporary error, restart the game.
2. There could be a program that might prevent the driver from being initialized. Restart the computer and then run the game again.
If the error persists after following above procedure, perform step below:

[ErrorCode: 0x00000108] Failed to initialize HackShield module
Symptoms
1. An error message (Error Code:0x00000108) occurs, and the game does not run.
Cause
 An error occurred as to HackShield is not compatible with Symantec’s EndPoint Protection(old version).
This error does not occur in EndPoint Protection version released from 2010.
Solution
 Visit Symantec website, and download the latest EndPoint Protection and reinstall it
If the error persists after following above procedure, perform step below:

[ErrorCode: 0x00000203 - 4] Failed to start HackShield driver
Symptoms
1. An error message (Error Code: 0x00000203 or 0x00000204) occurs, and the game does not run.
Cause
 An error occurred when the HackShield driver is loaded.
 There could be a program that might prevent the HackShield driver from being loaded.
Solution
1. It could be a temporary error, restart the game.
2. There could be a program that might prevent the driver from being initialized. Restart the computer and then run the game again.
If the error persists after following above procedure, perform step below:

[ErrorCode: 0x00010301] Hooking Detection
Symptoms
1. An error message (Error Code: 0x00010301) occurs, and the game is terminated.
Cause
 Hooking has been detected in a system file or HackShield file.
 There could be a conflict with a program installed on your PC.
 (HackShield 5.3.7.1 version may detect steam programs.)
      Tridef  solution could be detected when it’s converting 3D view.
      A kind of  wallhack program for hacking attempt may be running.
      
Solution
A. Terminate the Steam program. Or, remove the program.
If hacking attacks keep on being detected after following above procedure, perform step below:

[ErrorCode: 0x00010302] Failed to load HackShield driver
Symptoms
1. An error message (Error Code: 0x00010302) occurs, and the game is terminated.
Cause
 The HackShield driver has not been properly loaded.
 There could be a program that might prevent the HackShield driver from being loaded.
Solution
1. It could be a temporary error, restart the game.
2. There could be a program that might prevent the driver from being initialized. Restart the computer and then run the game again.
If the error persists after following above procedure, perform step below:

Debugging/Debugging Detection

[ErrorCode: 0x00000105] Debugger detected
Symptoms
1. An error message (Error Code: 0x00000105) occurs, and the game does not run.
Cause
 A debugger used for developing programs may be running.
 If you are using online banking service while playing a game, the program used by the bank’s website may be causing the error.
 A program with similar functions as a debugger may be running.
Solution
1. If a debugger is running, terminate it and restart the game.
A. Log in to the computer with administrator privileges.
B. Restart the game.
2. It could be conflicting with online banking security. If you are using online banking service and playing a game at the same time, terminate the online banking service and restart the game.
If hacking attacks keep on being detected after following above procedure, perform step below:

[ErrorCode: 0x00010307 - 8] Debugging attempt detected
Symptoms
1. An error message (Error Code: 0x00010307 or 0x00010308) occurs, and the game is terminated.
Cause
 A debugger used for developing programs may be attempting to debug the game program.
If you are using online banking service while playing a game, the program used by the bank’s website may be causing the error.
 A program with similar functions as a debugger may be running.
Solution
1. If a debugger is running, terminate it and restart the game.
A. Log in to the computer with administrator privileges.
B. Restart the game.
2. It could be conflicting with online banking security. If you are using online banking service and playing a game at the same time, terminate the online banking service and restart the game.
If hacking attacks keep on being detected after following above procedure, perform step below:

HackShield File Manipulation Detection

[ErrorCode: 0x010701 ~ 2] HackShield file manipulation detected
Symptoms
1. An error message (Error Code: 0x00010701, 0x00010702 or 0x00010703) occurs, and the game is terminated.
Cause
 The HackShield files may be modified or deleted.
 The HackShield file names may have been changed.
 The HackShield files may be infected by some viruses.
Solution
1. Restart the game to get a patch for the HackShield files.
2. Install the game client to install the HackShield files again.
3. If HackShield update is applied, restart the game from the beginning to run HackShield update again.
If hacking attacks keep on being detected after following above procedure, perform step below:

[ErrorCode: 0x010703] HackShield file manipulation detected
Symptoms
1. An error message (Error Code: 0x00010703) occurs, and the game is terminated.
Cause
 In 5.3.8.1 version and older, a specific program may hook or modify the system program.
 It may occur when Window Blinds is installed.
 It may occur when running Daum Mini Dictionary while playing the game.
 It may occur when you change the theme for Vista in Window XP SP3 environment.

Solution
1. Remove Window Blinds program and start the game.
2. Terminate Daum Mini Dictionary while playing the game.
3. Change the theme for Window OS to default.
If hacking attacks keep on being detected after following above procedure, perform step below:

[ErrorCode: 0x010705] Local Memory Hack Detection
Symptoms
1. An error message (Error Code:0x010705) with the location of the hack program occurs, and the game is terminated.
Cause
 It occurs when the file with LMP applied to games has been manipulated.
 A specific file of the game (to which LMP has been applied) has been infected by malicious code.
 The malicious codes may have attempted to modify the memory of the game program.
Solution
2. If you cannot find the program, refer to the method of terminating the program, and terminate it.
3. Use an antivirus program to scan/remove malicious code and then restart the game.
If the error persists after following above procedure, perform step below:

Speed Hack Detection

[ErrorCode: 0x010303 - 4] Speed hack detected
Symptoms
1. An error message (Error Code: 0x010303 or 0x010304) occurs, and the game is terminated.
2. An error message “Speedhack has been detected.” occurs, and the game is terminated.
Cause
 A speed hack program is running.
 There could be false-positive caused by unstable system clock in low specification computer or laptop.
Solution
1. Terminate the speed hack program and restart the game.
Company Restricted Working copy if printed
A. As speed hack programs have a UI to control speed of the game, users can recognize when they are running.
2. If the user did not run a speed hack program and the problem seems to be caused by false-positive, collect the system information and send it to AhnLab, Inc.

Signature-Based Hack Program Detection

[ErrorCode: 0x010501] Hack program detected
Symptoms
1. An error message (Error Code: 0x010501) with the location of hack program, and the game is terminated.
2. An error message “Hack attack has been detected in the following location: program path” occurs, and the game is terminated.
Cause
 The hack program defined in the HackShield signature engine is running.
Solution
1. Terminate the program in the path displayed in the error message and restart the game.
2. If you cannot find the program, refer to the method of terminating the program, and terminate it.
If the error persists after following above procedure, perform step below:

Memory Hack Detection

[ErrorCode: 0x010601] Memory hacking detected
Symptoms
1. An error message (Error Code: 0x0010601) with the location of the hack program occurs, and the game is terminated.
2. An error message “Hack attack has been detected in the following location: program path” occurs, and the game is terminated.
Cause
 Memory hack has been detected.
 The game program may be infected by malicious codes.
 The malicious codes may have attempted to modify the memory of the game program.
Solution
1. Terminate the program in the path displayed in the error message and restart the game.
2. If you cannot find the program, refer to the method of terminating the program, and terminate it.
3. Use an antivirus program to scan/remove malicious code and then restart the game.
If the error persists after following above procedure, perform step below:

Private Server Hack Detection

[ErrorCode: 0x010901] Memory hacking detected  
Symptoms
1. An error message (Error Code: 0x010901) with the location of hack program, and the game is terminated.
2. An error message “Hack attack has been detected in the following location: program path” occurs, and the game is terminated.
Cause
 Private server hack program may be running.

Solution
3. Terminate the program in the path displayed in the error message.
If the error persists after following above procedure, perform step below:
